Portfolio Policy

The Executive Council is responsible for administering and managing the portfolios of Management Undergraduate Society (MUS) events and services. This includes the creation and oversight of any and all committees or positions required for this purpose.

1. Definitions
   1. ‘Portfolio’: the amalgamation of events or services for which an individual member of the Executive Council is responsible
   2. ‘Portfolio Committee Member’: a person who has at least partial responsibility for organizing an event or providing a service
2. Role of the Executive Council
   1. The Executive Council is responsible for holding events and services which are consistent and support the mission and vision of the Management
   2. The Executive Council shall have no restrictions on the types and size of committees to be created to provide MUS events and services
   3. Any decision to shift events or services between Executive Council portfolios shall be made by a majority (50% plus one) vote of the standing Executive Council
   4. Any decision to eliminate or add events or services to an Executive Council portfolio shall be made by a two-thirds (2/3^rd) majority of the standing Executive Council
3. Responsibilities of Portfolio Committee Members
   1. Portfolio committee members are responsible to running their event or service to the best of their abilities, and in accordance with the MUS mission and vision
   2. Portfolio committee members must not derogate the name of MUS or any of its affiliated organizations
   3. Portfolio committee members shall not assume any obligations, financial or contractual, on behalf of the MUS without the appropriate explicit approval from the Executive Council or one of its members
4. Portfolio of the Executive Council President
   1. The portfolio of the Executive Council President shall contain the following:
      1. Executive Assistant
      2. Undergraduate Program Committee (UPC)
      3. Academic Committee (AC)
      4. Faculty Council
      5. Career Services Advisory Committee (CSAC)
      6. Regroupement des Étudiant des Faculties d’Administration d l’Est du Canada (REFAEC)
      7. Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS)
      8. External Conferences
         1. Regroupement des Étudiant des Faculties d’Administration d l’Est du Canada (REFAEC) meetings
         2. Eastern Conference Leadership Retreat (ECLR)
         3. National Business School Conference NBSC
         4. Roundtable
5. Portfolio of the Vice President of Academic Affairs
   1. The portfolio of the Vice President of Academic Affairs shall contain the following:
      1. Graduating Case Competition (GCC)
      2. U2 Case Competition (U2CC)
      3. Desautels Management Leadership Seminar (DMLS)
      4. Management Achievement Awards (MAW)
      5. Tutorial Services
      6. Majors & Concentrations Fair
      7. Meet Your Professors
      8. Mentorship Program
      9. Undergraduate Program Committee (UPC)
      10. Academic Committee (AC)
      11. Faculty Council
      12. International Work Group (IWG)
      13. Career Services Advisory Committee (CSAC)
   2. Pending final approval of the Executive Council and/or the Faculty, the portfolio of the Vice President of Academic Affairs shall also contain the following:
      1. McGill Management International Case Competition (MMICC)
      2. Note-Taking Service (NTS)
6. Portfolio of the Vice President of Financial Affairs
   1. The portfolio of the Vice President of Financial Affairs shall contain the following:
      1. Financial Services

7. Portfolio of the Vice President of Engagement
   1. The portfolio of the Vice President of Engagement shall contain the following:
      1. Orientation Week
      2. Winter Carnival
      3. Cancer Auction

8. Portfolio of the Vice President of Internal Affairs
   1. The portfolio of the Vice President of Internal Affairs shall contain the following:

9. Portfolio of the Vice President of External Affairs
   1. The portfolio of the Vice President of External Affairs shall contain the following:
